Hello people :3
I wanted to make a post about something very important to me that will bring some change on my Deviantart page. First, I used to see this page as a ''professional'' one, where I could only post my photoshoot pictures that were taken by ''pro''-photographers.
But, recently, I decided that I would post more stuff here, because I'm still proud of what I can make, even if it's not in a ''serious'' photoshoot with the whole cosplay on. Which is why I started posting makeup test pictures, because I believe that my progress with my makeup skills are worth showing, because I'm proud of myself.
Things like that will appear more often on my stuff. Because hell, even if I don't have the cosplay done and a perfect background/light or anything else, it's still something I worked hard on to get to look like the character. (I'm still crying in wonder in front of that Lumina makeup-test, to be honest)
That doesn't mean I'll stop posting photoshoot pictures, oh no. Because I love doing photoshoot, but I can't do it as often as I want, so I have to compensate by doing something else, like those makeup test that I enjoy so much.
(Or those things that definitely boost my ego from seeing how much I can look like the character.. Can't help it, heheh <3)
So. That brings me to something else that is very important to me. OPINIONS.
Don't get me wrong, I love hearing what you think about my stuff. What I don't like, is hearing people say things like ''You can't cosplay the character because you don't have the face/shape/nose/insertyourinvalidargumenthereyoudumbass. I HATE THAT. People used to tell me things like that and I gave up on a lot of projects because of this, which I kinda regret today, because I had a lot of great stuff coming out of those dream cosplays. So you see, if someone wanna cosplay a black character and is white, it's fine. If someone want to cosplay a thin-faced character and is more of a round face-shaped. IT'S FINE. If your nose is a little bigger than the character's. IT'S PERFECTLY FINE.
Damn I can get angry over this... Well. Let's calm down. So. I believe that you can do anything if you really want to. I believe that you can look like whatever you want if you put your mind to it seriously. And fuck the others that takes cosplay for a super serious matters that you can't have fun with. Really, cosplay isn't about being dead serious all the time, it's about creating memory with people you love and having fun while bringing a character you like to life. Why is it so hard to understand ?
I could talk a looot about this and other things that I find revolting.. But I don't want to write to much today, maybe another time.
Let's just say that I finally understand the point of Cosplay, it's about having fun with people you love, and about improving your skills and be proud of your work. Really people, don't let anybody tell you what to do or how to live your passion, the kind of people that will tell you those horrible things are only self-centered ambitious lonely people, who can only live through their ephemeral fame.
